Story summary

Edge is a young adult (YA) pre-apocalyptic sci-fi novel that blurs the edges between dreams and reality; a glimpse of a nearly supernatural ghostly world that lies just beyond limited human senses. It's a dark-ish aching love story set in the current time, featuring liminal beings who walk the edges between dimensions.

EXCERPT 

 

I had to get down off the mountain.

 

As I turned to go, a harsh sound raked through the air. I felt it as much as heard it. Something I'd never heard before, with an abrasive quality that scraped my very bones. The hunting cry of some beast, the scream of a demon... something not of this world. My body froze, the hair on my arms furring up with a cold chill. I couldn't tell where the sound had come from and I stood motionless, apprehensive, but heard nothing more. I started hurriedly toward the trail, hyper-alert to my surroundings.

 

It came out of nowhere, before I'd taken a dozen steps.
